PIGEON Believes in Breastfeeding

Based on Extensive Research in Babies' Oral Development

The skin-to-skin interaction of breastfeeding is a unique experience which strengthens the bond between a mother and her baby. However, it isn't always possible for mothers to breastfeed for as long as they would like to.

Where bottle-feeding is necessary, we recommend the PIGEON Peristaltic Nipple to encourage the natural movement of your baby's tongue, and ensure optimum development of baby's facial and jaw muscles.

Peristaltic Movement

Ever wondered how babies suck? Newborn babies suck on the upper jaw to receive the nipple. He also uses his tongue to make and send pulsating movements from the front of the tongue to the back. This set of movements is known as the peristaltic movement

alt

Peristaltic motion is the smooth wave-like motion of a baby's tongue. A baby moves his tongue like a wave, rolling it from the front to the back to draw milk (see Figures 1 to 4). The movement part is encouraged as it is integral for the development of the baby's jaw.

Features

Super-Stretchable
Stretchability is the most important function in a nipple to encourage a baby's natural sucking ability. Part of the teat on the nipple expands to fit perfectly with the "Sucking Fossa", in response to the natural peristaltic motion of your baby's tongue.

Ultra-Soft Silicone
The ultra-soft silicone rubber with its double thickness ensures ideal softness and elasticity so your baby can latch on comfortably and easily. The shape fits perfectly onto your baby's tongue, allowing smooth tongue movement and minimizing air intake.

Wide-Based Nipple
The nipple's roomy base aids your baby in opening his mouth wide, encouraging steady peristaltic motion.

Wide-Neck Streamline Bottle
The streamlined shape makes it easy for mothers to hold and keep clean. Made of high quality durable plastic, the wide opening makes preparation of formula milk simple and effortless.
